Sheryle met Norma at a Bible Study group. Norma was grieving the loss of her husband who passed 6 months earlier. Norma wanted a memorial quilt made from her husband's ties. She said he wore one everyday. Sheryle wanted to make this quilt special for Norma. She took each tie and made it into an eight pointed star, lining each block to make it line up perfectly.

Here is a close up of one the quilt blocks using a solid tie, and Sheryle then embroidered the Footprints in the sand first paragraph. Using the background material with the footprints in the sand as the inspiration for this quilt.

Sheryle asked Norma if there was a special bible verse or something her husband, Michael always said to her. This is what she wanted and again Sheryle embordered this on a solid tie and added little red hearts with the lettering.

In this picture you can see the hearts in the center of each block. This was long-armed by hand by Sheryle's daughter.

Sheryle's daughter added footprints around the edge of the quilt. You may have to zoom in to see them, but they are so cute, just added a little special touch.

Sheryle and Norma when Sheryle delivered the quilt to Norma. Sheryle asked Norma if she could make the quilt using whatever materials and pattern she chose. Norma trusted Sheryle implicitly, as you can see the end result was more than Norma imagined. Sheryle said it was a heartfelt quilt, really was a quilt made with love.
