Susie's quilt - restoration completed

The quilt is finished and delivered to Susie and her daughter. They were so delighted with the results, tears and hugs were shared.  This was a labor of love💕 and we were honored to have the privilege of working on restoring this quilt.

Here is a close up of the quilt finished.  It looks brand new and it is hard to tell the new pieces from the old.  All the piece work was done by hand and the edges of the quilt were sewn on the machine as they were fraying and needed help.

This quilt was made by Susie's grandmother.  We are guessing it is over a 100 years old.  We have tagged all the pieces on the quilt that need replaced.

In this picture you can see where the fabric is so old that it has disintegrated.  Sheryle is removing the worn out pieces and is hand sewing in new pieces.

We have faded the material to make it fit in with the older fabric and this picture shows 4 pieces that Sheryle has replaced.

MARSHA'S quilt - restoration completed

This quilt  was repaired for Marsha, her sister made this and passed away from COVID. Marsha wanted it repaired to keep as a memory of her sister.

Marsha's Mom made this quilt  top 45 years ago.  She wanted to get it long-armed quilted.

As you can see Marsha was overwhelmed when she saw the two completed quilts! Making memories are what we feel are so special about quilting and one of the things we enjoy helping others do.
